Massage Therapist Unique to Bend, Oregon

Earlier Years:

My athletic passion began when I started competing in athletic events at the young age of seven, or earlier, at the All Comer Track Meets in Eugene, OR. My senior year of high school I participated with Track and Field and of all things, I threw the discus and made it to State!

In 1992, I made the decision to become a massage therapist and in 1995, I earned my license in professional massage. Because of my extraordinary hand strength, I could more effectively specialize in deep-tissue massage. I especially liked its therapeutic quality over any other type of massage for myself and especially for my clients!

Special training:

In 2003, I added movement protocols to my treatments with certifications in Active Release Techniques of which treat the muscles, tendons, ligaments and nerve entrapment’s with this technique. I’ve been lucky enough to continue to add to the Active Release Techniques protocols with my own spin on it for over 20 years now! To quote Dr. Abelson a former ART instructor: “Think of ART as an effective tool in your toolbox, a tool that becomes even more effective when combined with other treatment modalities.”

I now am able to bring you the most integrative treatment possible. My joy is to dive into the cutting edge modalities, thought processing patterns, and understand WHY they will work on you and when to utilize them on each one of my clients’ individual needs. I have recently dove into the Vagus Nerve and how that effects so many of us, even athletes or should I say, especially athletes.

For you, I now combine:

*Motion Specific massage and deep-tissue treatment

*Address the lymphatic system and suggest daily activities for you

*Take into consideration the vagus nerve and work to release it

*Work with the breath and the many diaphragms (6 in all)

to treat injuries and pain in the areas you are needing it the most even if it is no where near your actual pain!

I continue to update and add to my certifications as best as I can with having my daughter around which is one of the joys of my life.

In my spare time, I enjoy mountain biking, skate skiing, trail running, hanging out with my family, understanding the first thing about music theory whether it be violin or guitar, a bit of sewing and camping out or back packing in the summertime.

++ I am happy to work with doctors, physical therapists, chiropractors, naturopaths,  and personal trainers. I believe that it takes many people at times to find the answer to each individual’s challenges they are facing.
