Frequently Asked Questions
-
The number and frequency of sessions depend on the nature and duration of the issue.
Please note: I am not a doctor. For severe or persistent problems, you may need to consult your physician.
-
While I bring extensive knowledge to each session, my skills have their limits.
Massage therapy is not a cure-all and should complement, not replace, medical treatment. While it can relieve pain, tension, and stress, chronic issues like long-term poor posture often require more than a single session to address.
-
Please consult your physician or chiropractor for an exam and treatment options. If they recommend massage therapy, ask for a prescription.
Once you have the prescription, please email or call me with the following information:
Auto insurance company name
Claim number
Date of the accident
Claim adjuster's name and phone number
Ideally, this should be information for a claim filed with your own auto insurance, regardless of fault, as it may allow your medical providers to be reimbursed through your Personal Injury Protection (PIP) policy.

You’re in control during your session—whether you prefer silence or chatting throughout. Feel free to talk about what you're experiencing, the weather, or anything else that helps you relax. Sleeping (and snoring) is perfectly fine, and your body will still benefit from the treatment. I’ll check in regarding pressure and whether you'd like additional work in specific areas.
-
Big meals should be avoided before a massage, but a light snack to prevent hunger is perfectly fine. Post massage you do need a lot of water, and so I would wait a bit before eating a larger meal.
-
Not every treatment requires undressing—it depends on your needs and comfort level. When I ask you to undress to your comfort level, it’s entirely up to you. You can remain partially clothed, such as keeping your underwear on, or undress completely if you prefer.
For typical massages, you will always be covered with a sheet and/or blanket, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered. I’ll step out of the room to give you privacy to undress and dress at the beginning and end of your session.
For your comfort, please consider removing necklaces, dangly earrings, bracelets, and watches before your massage.
-
My massage sessions are scheduled for the full time on the table, with an additional 15 minutes or more to allow you to relax as you get on and off the table. For your first appointment, I often include an extra 20 minutes, so please plan for about 30 additional minutes during your visit.

My office, located in Deschutes River Woods on our peaceful property, offers a serene escape from the hustle of city life. Thoughtfully designed by my husband, it’s a quiet retreat where you can relax, unwind, and focus on your well-being.
-
I accept cash, checks, Venmo and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express).
-
No-Show and Late Cancellation Policy:
No-call/no-show appointments will be charged the full session fee.
Cancellations with less than 12 hours' notice will be charged 60% of the service fee.
Refund Policy:
Credits for services are available, or refunds can be issued minus credit card processing fees. -
Tipping is always optional and never expected. As a business owner, I set my prices to fairly compensate myself and do not rely on tips like employees at spas or franchises. If you’d like to support me, I love referrals and positive online reviews.
However, if you do wish to leave one, 15-20% is typical.

Testimonials

“I’m 63, a competitive swimming and sports enthusiast. I’m sure everyone enjoys and knows the benefits of a good massage, but Tana’s massages are so much more than a basic massage. I contribute a portion of my success to Tana’s magical hands. I can confidently say that there’s no one that gives a better deep tissue massage – Thank you Tana!”

“Tana's knowledge of the body and her vast experience in therapeutic work made her an easy choice to help me address some chronic issues. Booking my first session with Tana was easy because of her quick and professional responses. I appreciate how Tana took the time to understand my problems so she could target the root cause of the tension and pain. I highly recommend Tana if you are looking for someone to help you alleviate pain in your body. Not to mention her home studio is incredibly cozy and relaxing."

Tana is an extremely talented message therapist! She is very knowledgeable and able to provide deep tissue messages and well as help you recover with injuries. I have been seeing her for many years and have never found anyone like her!

Tana is by far the most effective massage therapist I've ever experienced, and believe me, I've had a lot of massages! I injured myself to the point of doctors telling me I'll never do this... and I'll never do that again... But with under the injury specific treatment of Tana Clark, I am back out in full force at age 50! Feeling better than ever, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and sleeping without pain!
You really should at least TRY ONE massage with Tana because I promise it will be unlike any other you've ever experienced. She's the only one in Central Oregon with a 4-step process that works kinks, tightness, imbalances, and injuries right out.
She heats up the area she'll work on and uses a Fascia Blaster to "comb" out your tight, tangled soft tissue. Then she does Active Release Techniques to release "stuck" tissue, then deep tissue massage. Heaven! -
Amazing massages! Tana is an excellent masseuse. She’s a great listener, able to get deep into the muscles, and knows how to help your body heal. I recommend her to everyone I know :-)
-
Tana is very attentive to your needs. Also, it's hard to find somebody that does deep tissue as well as she does. She is highly sought-after but it is still possible to get an appointment!

Tana is amazing, so good at what she does. Highly recommend!
